Kitchen demolitions can feel like a big job. And to be fair, they usually are. There’s more going on compared to a bathroom — more cabinetry, more connections, more materials to deal with.

In most cases, a kitchen demolition takes 1 to 3 days. That’s the general range we work within. But like any strip-out, it really comes down to size, layout, and what we find once things start coming apart.
If the kitchen is compact and fairly standard, a full kitchen strip-out can sometimes be completed in a single day.
We’re talking basic cabinetry, laminate benchtops, and minimal tiling. When access is straightforward and everything is easy to disconnect, the process moves quickly. These jobs are usually clean and predictable.
That said, even smaller kitchens need a careful approach. There are plumbing, gas, and electrical components involved, so it’s never just a “rip and go” situation.
This is where the majority of Brisbane homes sit.
If you’re asking “how long does a kitchen demo take?”, the answer is typically a day and a half, sometimes stretching into two. Cabinets need to be removed properly, splashback tiles chipped away, and benchtops dismantled.
Then there’s what sits behind it all. Older adhesives, fixings, and layered materials can slow things down. Even something as simple as a tiled splashback can take longer than expected if it’s been installed well.
Larger kitchens — or older ones — tend to push the timeline out to 2–3 days.
